After nearly 20 years of marriage I am dating again and I am learning about someone new, and I love it. For one thing, we waited nearly 5 weeks before “doing it”. But what I really love is she tells me what she likes and doesn’t like. After a coffee date, she we kissed, but then she texted me to say that she was expecting more. More tongue, more passion, more feeling. So I googled how to be a good kisser, read a couple of articles, watched a couple of videos, and then after our walk in the park, we sat on a picnic table and made out for 45 minutes. It was awesome. I’m 53 years old and I feel like a teenager again.

To the author’s point though, I think I’m wired this way. The getting to know each other part seems to be the most exciting part to me. I love having someone to tell my stories to who hasn’t heard them before. The talking about stuff has always been to most interesting part of a relationship. My ex and I did nothing but talk for the first 4 months because she lived in Texas and I lived in Ontario. I understand why someone would find the getting to know them a chore, but I love it.
