Letting migrants jump over a snow bank into Canada isn’t a cohesive immigration strategy.

Step 1 — Suspend the 3rd party agreement with the United States so that refugee migrants can show up at a regular border crossing and apply for access to Canada.

Asylum seekers are not arriving in Canada in overwhelming numbers. It’s just overwhelming because all of them are arriving at Roxham road forcing the problem on Quebec and Montreal. Suspending the 3rd party agreement means that asylum seekers can arrive at a border crossing in British Columbia or Ontario or Manitoba just as easily as arriving at Roxham road.

If asylum seekers are spread out across our border then Canadian immigration officials can handle the flow. It will likely require some additional resources at all of our ports of entry, but it would be a manageable challenge.

Step 2 — Start a Permanent Residence application and immediately authorize them to work in Canada.

Anyone arriving at a port of entry into Canada seeking asylum will be fingerprinted and have a DNA sample taken. They will be issued work…
