I talked to my GF about it and it turns out she didn't want penetrative intercourse that night and because my performing oral is routinely a prelude to P in V (we're both 56 so lubrication is a good thing) she waved me off. I figured it was trivial but now I'm glad I asked. Funny how the subconscious works sometimes.
