My gf told me that I was a good bf last year when we were out for a drive and it occurred to me that the bar for what is considered a good bf is incredibly low. She illustrated her assertion by saying that I listen to her. (anyone who knows me knows how much effort it takes me to shut up and listen). She feels supported. I clean up after myself. We go out and do things. In other words, men in their 50's who do the bare minimum can be shining stars compared to the rest of the shit out there. If you are a man and want to be a good bf, take a minute and think about something she would like, then try and do that. And you don't even have to do it every day. It's amazing.
