When my marriage ended and I started online dating I felt I needed to settle for the first person who came along. She was a perfectly pleasant woman but we had no chemistry. It took a while but I eventually called it off so we could both move on and maybe have better luck next time.

I’ve met some great women online and they didn’t all last but it was good while it lasted.

I think one needs to set expectations and avoid the sunken cost fallacy. Don’t let someone else tell you what a reasonable expectation is. I am the arbiter of what I think is reasonable.
